So our garden that we planted in March has gotten a little out of control. Since we were new at this whole garden thing, we may have put too many plants in a small area. Looks like its overcrowded.
Our herbs are still in good shape. We haven't really used them though because we aren't used to having them there.
The peppers are no where to be found, neither are the okra. I think they were in shock and died.
The tomato plant is growing out of control, but there are no tomatoes in sight. Is there such thing as a tomato plant that doesn't have tomatoes? If so, that's what we have.
The squash and the zucchini are the ones that are out of control! We planted two or three of each when in reality we should have only planted one of each. We didn't realize how big and spread out they go. We havent seen any zucchini yet. They are kind of like the tomato plant. I keep thinking any day now that the zucchini will pop up.
The squash on the other hand is doing well. We have about 5 or 6 that need to be picked in a few days and looks like there is no end in sight with little ones popping up all over the plant. We did pick the first squash the other day. It was pretty big considering we grew it ourselves and the small area it had to grow.
You can see in the picture below that the garden is craziness! I'm not sure why I didn't take a picture of the whole garden, I was just so excited about our one squash I guess.

Mr. Hunt sautéed it up and ate it. It was so good!
Sadly, we are starting to think that besides the herbs, and squash we have left to pick and that are on there way, the rest of the garden is done for. Its starting to get SO hot here in Austin already and if we forget to water it one day, the whole thing looks dead and sad. Keeping a garden is hard work. Obviously we can't start over now with less veggies, but we learned our lesson for next time. We will keep you updated though for sure.
