5 Months Old

Gone are the days when this little will sit for her monthly photo shoot. This shoot took twice as long and she was all over the place! Leaning forward, squirming and sprawling out on the chair, and messing with Teddy so I cant see her face. I'm starting to regret doing these on a rocking chair. I kept thinking she was going to rock out of it.

Anyway, back to business. This little girl's personality has really come out this month, and she may be a little spoiled. We've got to do something about some of her habits before they get out of hand.

But how can you not spoil this little face?

At 17 weeks we transitioned to sitting in the stroller like a big girl instead of putting the car seat on it. She loves not being so strapped in and looking forward. She still may be a little small for it, but I'm not running or anything quite yet, so I'm not worried about her falling out.

She had her first poopy blowout where it actually leaked all over me. Mr. Hunt couldn't stop laughing and thought it was the funniest thing, until I made him help me clean up. It was pretty gross, but It was bound to happen sometime right?

Look at this girl sitting by herself!

On April 20th, she tried her first solid (pureed) food. It was rice cereal. It took a few times to get used to the texture and the spoon, but then she loved it. Now at the end of this month, she eats rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and bananas. Bananas are her number one favorite right now. She cant get enough. She is a pro eater now.

Nana came to visit when she was 18 weeks old to watch her while Mr. Hunt and I went to Maui for 5 days. It was hard for me to leave, but I knew she was in good hands. Jane and Nana spent alot of time together playing, walking around the neighborhood, and taking pictures. Towards the end of the week Mimi and Pawpaw came to take over for a day. It was nice to see them again too.

She chews on her fingers all the time. We went to the doctor and she confirmed that her first two teeth on the bottom are on their way. She also still drools everywhere. Sometimes we have to change outfits in the middle of the day just because she has soaked her shirt.

She also likes to try to put everything in her mouth. Even Rivers ears. Yuck! She grabs at our faces and gives us "kisses" which is just her trying to put any part of our face in her mouth. We just say its kisses.

Little Miss wanted to pose like a model on this next picture.

Then she decided she didn't want her bow. High maintenance?

Then she threw it. Really high maintenance?

On May 7th, she held her own bottle for a few seconds. She usually holds our hand which is holding the bottle so I think she could probably hold her own bottle for real if we tried. But we aren't in any hurry.

At 20 weeks old she found her feet and toes. Now she holds on to and plays with them all the time. So cute.

On May 10th, I looked at the video monitor that morning and she had rolled to her belly. Since then we have had to not swaddle any arms and she rolls to her belly sometimes, but mainly likes to sleep on her side now.

We had one horrible night (I wrote a post about it) where she was up all night rolling and not getting comfortable. I think it was mainly teething though poor thing.

She is a pro roller now from her back to her belly. She has stopped rolling from her belly to her back which is weird because apparently that's the easier way to roll. Instead she just screams when shes on her belly and wants to be on her back until we help her back over.

I'm pretty sure she has dropped her third nap. She refuses to go to sleep when I put her in her crib. But she still gets a little cranky during that time like she is tired. It might just be a few days or weeks for her to get used to not sleeping during that time and stretching out the other two naps.

You can see here that her hair is growing so much!

This last week she has slept through the night without waking at all of the paci. I'm not sure if its the teething or what, but she doesn't seem to really want her paci too much anymore. Maybe that's a good thing? We will see. It might be that the paci is too small and she needs the next size, but she doesn't seem angry or fussy without it. She will still take it sometimes though. I kind of always relied on it as a backup if she was freaking out, so we will see.

These next two pictures she was sneezing! haha!

AHHHHHHHH

CHOOOOOOOO

She weighs 15 pounds 9 ounces. Exactly 8 pounds heavier than when she was born. Getting so big!

Always reaching for the camera these days. She reaches for everything, including daddy's beers!

This is when she was so over the photo shoot. This isn't coincidence people, she really does have an attitude sometimes.

She has shown even more interest in the puppies. She pets them all the time and watches them if they are anywhere near her. She really loves them.

Just yesterday she sat in a highchair at a restaurant. It was a little big and she kept sliding down to one side, but it worked while I fed her. For now, if we don't have to feed her too we will keep her in the car seat.

Yep, photo shoot over. This girl was so over it, she threw her body forward in a fit.

Baby Jane,
You are getting so big. You are so alert and we can tell you are soaking up so much information. You know how to get our attention and you aren't afraid to tell us when you aren't happy. We do love the little personality that you have and we cant wait to see how it keeps coming out. We love you so much and you make us the happiest parents around.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
