4 Months Old

Jane turns 4 months old today. I cannot believe it. I'm pretty sure Ill say that each month. The months are flying by people, and I'm trying to keep up with everything new she does.

We just got back from the doctors office for her check up and shots. She says we can start Jane on solids now if we want anytime from now until 6 months old. Mr. Hunt is super eager to start this but I know once we start there will be no going back and alot of new work. We will see.

Weight: 13lbs 13oz (50th percentile)
Height: 25 inches long (75th percentile)
Head: ? (50th percentile)

She really showed interest in Teddy this month

At 13 weeks old she smiled at River while she was in the bathtub and River put his head over the side of the tub to see her.

At 13 weeks (3 months and 2 days) she had her last bottle of breastmilk. It was bittersweet for sure.

She is "talking" so much. I'm pretty sure she talks more than the average 4 month baby. She loves to interrupt peoples conversations, she talks to herself all the time in the crib, and yells sometimes too at nothing.

On March 23rd (13.5 weeks) she slept from 9:15pm-8am. I didn't go in to feed her, put her paci in, or restart her breathing monitor (which sucks by the way...). This was a first and it was great. Since then, she goes to bed around 9 or 9:30 and wakes up at 8am every night. I don't feed her in the middle of the night at all, but sometimes she wakes up still for her paci.

She rolled over for the first time from her tummy to her back on March 24th (13.5 weeks old). It was in front of Daddy. He was so excited he got to see it first. She has now rolled over three times. I only got to see it once, but we do have one on video.

Big kisses for Teddy

She can now be held on my hip instead of over my shoulder or cradled like a baby. Its nice to have at least one hand available to do things while holding her. Her head control is great!

She learned that if she makes a noise, we will look at her. So if we aren't paying attention to her, she will make a loud noise and then smile or laugh when we look at her. Such a little booger.

She moves her head to wherever she hears something. She likes to follow the dogs around in the room.

She has started to grab things including my hair which isn't fun.

She still drool ALOT and I still don't think its teething. She just has a ton of spit I guess.

On April 4th, she went on her first flight (to Charlotte). She did great.

During the trip she met Aunt Katie, Aunt Rachel, Uncle Michael, Uncle Dylan, Great Grandmamma Hunt, Great Grandaddy Hunt, and lots of Great Aunts and friends of the family for the first time. She was such a great baby letting everyone hold her even while she was napping.

We left Jane for the first time ever. It was with Nana, Pappy, and Uncle Dave while we went to our cousins rehearsal dinner and wedding. It was also the first time I didn't put her to sleep. She did great though.

She loves to sit up. She tries to sit up all the time and doesn't like to be on her back unless she is really tired. When we feed her and while she is in the bathtub she constantly tries to sit up. She will also fuss while on her play mat until you sit her up in your lap or in the bumbo. She even sat up by herself once for a few seconds.

She puts her hands in her mouth all the time now

At 3.5 months (15 weeks) she started blowing raspberries. Its so cute.

She is the happiest baby most of the time

She did a real belly laugh once at 16 weeks while I was playing with her. It was so cute and I try all the time to get her to do it again. She still does a few giggles and squeals which are like laughs too.

Her schedule is working out great for her. I follow her cues for hungry and tired, but everything happens at the EXACT time every day like clock work. its amazing and very helpful.

Dear Baby Jane,

You are growing SO fast. You already have a huge personality and sometimes you demand attention (already). We may have a crazy one on our hands, but we love you so much and that's alright with us. We enjoy watching you learn things every day and not one day that goes by that Daddy and I don't look at each other and just laugh at something you do. You make our hearts melt and we love you so so much.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
