Just Being Casual

So Fridays are casual days at work. We can wear jeans and sneakers, just not flip flops or t-shirts. It is also like a half day. We get to go home at three. When I found out about this when I got the job, I thought that was pretty cool. Now it is really cool. It's better than I thought! I don't have to really think about what I'm going to wear that morning (which sometimes takes awhile), I feel comfortable, and the day FLIES by. It makes me like Fridays that much more.

Even though there has only been two Fridays so far since I started, I try to get alot done around the house before Mr. Hunt comes home. That way I don't have to bother him to help me. Believe it or not, I get alot done when he isn't around. I know it's because when he is there, I just want to hang out with him and talk about our days...not do house work.

Today, I'm going to go home, pick up the poo from the backyard, dust and vacuum the whole house (its been a whole week and the carpet is starting to look like there is an extra layer of fur on top), and try to finish painting the master bedroom. The bedroom is pretty pitiful right now. The wall where the bed sits is painted along with the opposite wall. I started to tape the other two sides, and started to paint by the door. There is still tape up and the wall where the door is is half painted. Looks pretty bad! I need to get it done! I am just so tired when I get home from work, and the weekends.... I just want to rest.

I told you Davis was taller than me now. Now I have two HUGE brothers who can protect me!

Around the House

Did you know that Labrodor Retrievers have seven layers of fur? Well Mr. Hunt and I didnt know that until after we got River. We bought a puppy book on labs so that we could learn a thing or two and that, along with alot of other interesting facts, is when we found out. When we got River in the winter, he did shed alot more than I thought. As you could imagine, summer is worse, and I had no idea what was coming. Now we have two labs, so it is double the amount of hair. No matter how many times you brush them, it just keeps coming out. Seems to me they should be bald by now.

When we moved into our new house I made a promise to myself. I promised myself I would vacuum the whole house once a week. I am very proud of myself because with the exception of one week, I have fulfilled that promise. Sometimes it needs to be done twice a week, but I let it slide. If I dont vacuum, there will be little hair balls that look like hay blowing across the screen in a western movie. Yes, it gets that bad.

When I vacuum, I have to empty the container after every room. This picture might gross you out, but I had to share. This trash bag is full of hair. I could make a old woman's grey haired wig with this. This is crazy, but this is what it looks like everyweek. I promise. It feels like a whole new house everytime I vacuum and look in the trash to see this.

Mr. Hunt brought me home flowers the other day. I was very surprised because he usually brings me the same roses home everytime, but this time he changed it up. He knows that hydrangeas are my first favorite flower, and sunflowers are my second. This bouquet had all yellow flowers with two big sunflowers in the middle. It was so pretty. I love that man.

When we moved into our new house, my mom planted us a tomato plant in a topsy turvey. She knew how much Mr. Hunt loves tomatoes. It took awhile for them to get going, but now we have tomatoes coming out of our ears. I made a tomato and mozzarella salad the other day just to get rid of some. We cant eat them fast enough. I will tell you though, that these are the BEST tasting tomatoes I have ever had. They are so juicy and flavorful. Im glad that these are working because we tried this one other time and got one little tomato, and then the plant died. Im really trying my hardest to keep this one alive for Mr. Hunt. He needs to have as many tomatoes as he can now before the winter.

PS> For those of you who might look at my blogs and and realize that my grammar is horrible, I am truly sorry. I try to just write what is on my mind, and I know I'm not turning this in to an English teacher. Please bear with me!

Look A Likes

So ever since Mr. Hunt and I have started dating, we have had at least one person every few months or so ask if we are brother and sister, and sometimes even TWINS! I think we look a little alike, but not to where I would think we are siblings. They almost always say that our smile is the same, our hair is the same exact color and texture (both wavy), our skin color is the same, and our eyes are the same exact color. I guess I can sort of see it. I definitely think that Mr. Hunt and I look more alike than my own brothers and I.

This really has nothing to do with this, but I am kind of sad. Dylan has been taller than me for awhile now....maybe 4 years or so. But now Davis is taller than me too! We took a picture together this weekend, and he is taller! I cant believe it. Most people think that Dylan is the oldest and I am the middle child. I have a feeling they will soon think Dylan is the oldest, then Davis, then me.

Oh well, I like to think (and I know) that my brothers will take care of me like I am the youngest anyways. They love me almost as much as I love them.

I have to go now, but Ill post about our weekend with Dylan, Davis and Trey this past weekend. We always have a little too much fun!

River in the front seat

So whenever I need to take the puppies anywhere in the car, they have to stay in the way back of the car so that they dont distract me.

This past week I had to take River to the vet because he has an ear infection and a skin rash. I decided to let him sit up front for once. HE LOVED IT! I dont think I would be able to do this with Hannah though because I think she would try to get in my lap.

He sat in the seat like a human and just was content looking out the window. I rolled the window down for him, but he wasnt really interested in sticking his head out. It was a pretty hot day, but I didnt realize River was so hot. He sat in the seat and stuck his nose to the A/C! It was hilarious. Once he figured out that he liked this, he didnt move. I love him!

The only bad part was that the seat belt reminder kept beeping. That just goes to show how big River really is. The car thought he was a person!

4th of July Weekend

Mr. Hunt and I had a great 4th of July weekend. We went down to Beaufort, SC on Friday and came home late Sunday night. The dogs stayed home in the crates and we had a pet sitter come three times a day to let them out for 40 minutes each time.

Mr. Hunt and I both had unexpected half days of work on Friday so we got an early start to our fun filled weekend. We made it down to Beaufort, SC by 7:30 pm, just in time for "crack" cake. It was Kaki's birthday on Friday so Katie brought a very yummy cake. They call it "crack" cake because you cant get enough of it!

The next morning we got up early to try to get to the sandbar before it went away. This years tides were not good for the sandbar. We had to get there at 7am or 9pm. It was high tide at prime time which is NO good. We hopped on the boat and headed out to see that the sandbar was practically gone. Its OK though because we had a nice boat ride. Once we got back we headed to the beach. I have never in my whole life seen waves as big as I saw that day at the beach. Especially down in SC. Normally they are tiny. It was really windy so I'm sure that had something to do with it. Mr. Hunt and I relaxed and even took a nap on Kaki's new hammock (that she got for her birthday) when we got back from the beach. It was very relaxing. I learned how to make the REAL lemon bars that night too.

The next day (4th of July) we headed to the beach again. This time it wasn't so windy. We had Low country Boil for dinner (the Hunt's call it Frogmore Stew). It was very good. We had to head home after that.

The weekend was filled with sand, water, good food, good cake, and long walks at night with the girls. I couldn't have asked for a better mini vacation.

Oh, and by the way. I start my new job on Monday. I am an office administrator/executive assistant for a company called Knight Communications. I am very excited to be starting something new. More about that later.

Days of Birth

Ive missed a few birthdays in my blog, so I need to say Happy Birthday to some people!

July 2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELISSA!! For those of you that don't know, this is my cousin! I love her! She and I have had some good times together, especially when we were little with the video camera. We would pretend to be on QVC, make up dances, and just goof off with that thing. She lived two doors down from me for a few years and she was my babysitter. Too many good times. I wish we lived close now, but I try to see her when I can when I go home. HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY COUSIN! LOVEEEE YOU!!!!

July 2: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAKI (Mr. Hunt's Mom)!!! Now this is weird. My Grandmother and Katie (Mr. Hunt's sister) have the same birthday, and now Melissa and Kaki do too! hmmmm. Well I know you had a great birthday because you were at your favorite place (the beach) with some of your favorite people (your family). The crack cake (VERY GOOD CAKE) was amazing. I hope you got everything you wanted. My favorite gift of yours is the hammock. Very relaxing!

July 4: HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA!!!! I hope you had a great birthday at the mountain house. Thanks for talking to me on the phone. I know it must be nice to always have fireworks going off on your birthday. I would pretend they were for me and my birthday! I spent your birthday on the beach, but I thought of you all day for sure. I LOVE YOU!

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to Melissa, Kaki, and Grandpa! Happy Birthday to you!"

Happy JULY!

Happy July 1st everyone! July is one of my favorite months. As you already know I love the summer and July is prime time summer time!
Along with 4th of July of course, I will be spending this July in the sun enjoying the warm weather, burnt skin, bathing suit and sun dress wearing, and cold drinks!

This weekend we are going down to Beaufort South Carolina where Mr. Hunt's (extended) family have a few beach houses. I will have a ton of updates when I get back. I think I'm going to buy a real digital camera before the trip. See you then!
