New Toys

Jane has only ever had some smaller toys. It was fine when she was little, but Mr. Hunt and I could see that she was getting bored with them quickly. So we took matters into our own hands and went off to go get her some fun bigger toys.

First we got her this sit and walk push toy. She has been pulling up on everything, so we thought this would be a good toy that she could pull up on and eventually practice walking with it.

She loves to sit in front of it and play with the things on it, that part actually snaps off so that she can play with it on the ground if she wanted, but we don't ever do that.

She definitely pulls up on it.

.....and climbs on it. No matter what, the very first thing she does when this toy comes out is pull the telephone off. If I put it back on, she goes right over and takes it right back off. Too funny!

We also got her this little cookie monster doll. When Jane was at church the ladies in the nursery told us that she loved the mickey mouse doll and wouldn't let go of it. She has alot of stuffed animals already at home, but none of this size. We held up an Elmo and cookie monster and she picked cookie monster, and didn't let go of him for days.

Then came the big decision. We wanted to get Jane some sort of play station where she can sit in it and be confined and can play at the same time. This girl moves everywhere, so just to have something to put her in for a little bit while we cook or use the restroom was something good.

I was iffy on the walker because Ive heard horror stories about babies falling of ledges or bumping their heads or walking somewhere and pulling furniture over on them, so when we went to the store I had no intentions on buying a walker. But......

we got one. While talking to the guy that worked at the store, he confirmed that walkers are made differently nowadays. The main concern is that she would walk off a ledge, but they are made with brakes now. If the front or the back of the walker starts to fall off, then the brakes stop it from falling.

Haha!

Also, I know that I wont let her walk around in the walker without my supervision, so I wasn't worried about her bumping her head or pulling something onto her. Yes, I may put her in it to cook, but I can still have her in the corner of my eye.

The first time we put her in it she wasn't so sure. She just sat there and played with the toys on it. After about a few minutes, she cried to get out.

To be honest, she doesn't go in it much mainly because she doesn't like to be trapped. Also, she still hasn't figured out that she can walk in it, so she just sits in one spot.

Lastly, we went to Ikea and got Jane a tent and a tunnel.

We keep the tent up in the corner of the living room right now with some of her stuffed animals in it. She likes to crawl in there and play. Its so cute. I'm hoping our next home will either have a bigger room for Jane or a play room so that it can go in there.

We got the tunnel because she loved the one at my parents house so much. Again, she loves this one. She goes through it all the time.

So, there you have it. A few new toys for the girl. She may be spoiled a little, but hey, we can use them for other children to come too!

Love,
Jen
