We Planted a Garden

We decided to plant a garden in the backyard where there was already a built in garden pit thingy.

We had a little helper, but she fell asleep.

First we (or Mr. Hunt) dug out some of the dirt and the weeds. Then he mixed in some soil from the Home Depot.

Got Jane's approval...
Yes, it was super hot that day. Look at her poor little face.

Then we stuck our cages in. Yes, we realize they are in upside down. Haven't fixed them yet either...

Then while I fed Jane, Mr. Hunt planted everything.

We have

Poblano peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, bell peppers, oregano, parsley, basil, and okra.

And you can see a sneak peek into our new backyard. Low maintenance since there isn't any grass, and a cute, large, patio.

I really wanted cilantro because I can put that on anything mexican related, but the Home Depot was out. Then I randomly picked a leaf off of the little patch of somethin somethin right next to the side walk path in the below picture and guess what? It was CILANTRO!! What? Crazy! Ive since found a few patches of cilantro in the backyard, I guess the people who lived here before us liked it too.

Ill update yall if/when we get any veggies that actually grow.

Love,
Jen
