Jackson's 3 Month Update

I can't believe Jackson is already 3 months old! He is the best baby. So relaxed, go with the flow, flexible, and quiet (but talkative). God knew I couldn't handle both Jane and a very needy baby.

Jackson visited Charlotte NC for the first time this month and celebrated his first 4th of July while there. He saw a few small fireworks in Mimi and Papa's backyard

He has gotten very drooly this month.

I think he may have had a small reaction to his 2 month vaccinations. We were at Mimi and Papa's house in Charlotte and he cried for 5 minutes straight. It was really sad, but I eventually got him calmed down. There were no other signs of a reaction so he could have just been really tired from the traveling.

He met his great Aunt Lease and great Aunt Kena. He also met his great Uncle Jim this month

He slept in his crib overnight for the first time on July 5th

He drinks about 6 or 7oz every 4 hours and doesn't need anything in the middle of the night.

I can't even stand this look on his face

On July 7th he sat in the stroller without the carseat

I had to stop pumping on July 8th because my pump broke. I will make a separate post about this later

He had his first bottle of formula on July 24th (12 weeks and 1 day old)

Last full breastmilk bottle on July 28th

July 29th had a bottle with half breastmilk, half formula and that was all the breastmilk I had left in the freezer

We took him to the beach for the first time on July 18th. We stayed only for a few hours because it got really hot and he stayed under the tent the whole time since he can't wear sunscreen yet

He had his first bath with Jane and also his first bath with Daddy and loved them both

He found his hands this month and loves to hold them up and stare at them.

He has also grabbed a few toys on his playmat

We took him to the mountain house for the first time.

We started using cloth diapers on him on July 24

His favorite thing is bath time. He can be fussy and tired and as soon as he gets in the bath, he is all smiles and happy again.

haha, Jane's face!

He "talks" a lot. I think he is trying to compete with Jane. Sometimes it seems like he is trying to "talk" over her

We started to swaddle him with one arm out. He was always trying to bust out of his swaddle which would then wake him up.

July 27th we tried no swaddle, just a sleep sack with his arms free and he slept great.

Since then I put him to sleep with his arms out and if he wakes up and seems cold or uncomfortable, I will swaddle his arms back. I just do whatever it seems like is good for him at the time

He rarely cries, but when he does, its a full blown cry like the world is ending. He will be fine one second, and the next he is screaming. There is no in between.

He noticed the TV this month and will watch tv with Jane...kinda.

He had his first REAL belly laugh

He goes to sleep very easily without having to be rocked, as long as he is tired

H weighs a little over 14lbs (weighed from out home scale)

He generally sleeps through the night. Some nights he doesn't wake up at all and some nights he will wake up a few times just for his paci and go right back to sleep once he gets it

We tried to establish a nap routine this month. Since we have activities outside of the house for Jane, its hard to do it everyday but when we are home we stick to it.
Wakes up at 8am
First nap from 10-1130
Second nap from 130-330
Third nap is a cat nap around 5 (he sleeps in his swing or chair for this one and it only lasts about 30 minutes
Bed at 830

He wears 3 month clothes and his 3 month pjs are getting too short

He blows raspberries all the time

Jane was over the photoshoot at this time

First little diaper rash on July 28th. It was just a little red and was gone the next day

both with their tongues out goofing off!

He loves to pull my hair

He site up great in the jumbo seat and loves to sit in it and watch us eat

and just for good measure, Jane really wanted a picture with HER baby too. This poor baby dolls one eye is permanently shut

Here is our three month comparison picture. They definitely still look a lot alike, but I think Jackson is starting to look like his own person as well

Scrolling through Jackson's 3 month pictures and Jane's 3 month picture, I saw that I had a picture of them both making the same face. How crazy is that?

Jackson,
You are the most flexible, easy going, go with the flow kind of baby. Thanks for being so great....and SO cute! We love you!
Love,
Mom, Dad, and Jane
