Jane's First Dance Class

The day finally came that I was looking forward to since the day I found out I was having a girl. I danced my entire life (and really miss it), so I couldn't wait to put Jane in dance.

I can only hope she loves it as much as I did.

I know she was super excited about dance class on the first day. We went to buy her leotard/tutus/tights/ballet shoes/tap shoes the day before with Daddy and it was so fun!

I couldnt wait to put her hair in a cute bun either

This was going to the the first time that I put her in a class on her own (without me) besides the nursery at church so I was a little nervous. Mainly nervous she would misbehave.

Im thankful they had a little TV in the lobby so that I could still watch the entire thing. You better believe that I was watching the whole entire time. I was soaking in her very first dance class and hoping there would be many many more.

She did cry when she came back out to me and said that she missed me....but no tears while she was in the class. The second class went the same way, she was doing GREAT

Then Mimi and Papa took her and she didn't do so well. She cried and they ended up leaving a ill bit early because she wasn't having it. I thought maybe she just wanted to be with them because she never did that with me.

But I was wrong

The next two classes she threw a fit! Didn't even want to put her leotard and tights on. She cried the entire way there. She cried when we got there. She said she would rather sit in time out the entire time. She said she wanted to leave and never come back. This broke my heart. I know it wasn't that she didn't like dance, it was that she just wanted me to be in the room with her. But it still made me sad. I was hoping she would love it and get really excited every time is was time to go

Once I sat in the room with her, she would do great. She didn't pay much attention to me at all, but would glance over just to make sure I was still there. So Im hoping that she will grow out of this. Like I said, this is the first time Im actually leaving her. Thats one downfall with her not being in daycare. Most of the other kids in the class are fine with their parents leaving and Im sure its because they are left at daycare or something and they are used to it. There are also other kids like Jane who hate when their parents leave.

So Im not giving up quite yet. Im still taking her. The dance teacher said she doesn't mind me sitting in there (and I honestly love it because I can watch her better than on the tv and she is just the cutest with her dance moves) but I know Im not really supposed to be in there. There is even a sign that says "no parents past this point." So were working on it.

Love,
Jennifer

Visiting Grandpa

This is my grandpa! My Mom's Daddy. He has been in a nursing home for a few years now after having a few strokes and others accidents. BUT as you can see, he is still in good spirits.

Overtime we go visit my parents or family in Bluffton, we always try our best to stop in and say hi to him.

Because times like these are all that I need to make my day....or year!

Jackson's 4 Month Update

So I always thought Jane grew up so fast and the months flew by, but NO....I honestly cannot believe this little boy is already 4 months old. I feel like I just had him! Anyway, lets get to the update.

Jackson is finally sturdy enough for me to hold him on my hip. Since he is still small sometimes its harder for him to wrap his little legs around, but it easier for me to hold him like that so I can have another hand free.

Im not sure if he will be very talkative (like Jane) but he definitely tries to talk over Jane a lot. If Jane is talking or singing or making any noise....Jackson babbles right over her. Sometimes its like they are trying to see who can be loudest.

He also knows that if he makes noise, it gets our attention. So a lot of the times he will whine/cry, but as soon as we look at him he is all smiles. Little stinker!

He has learned to roll from his back to his side...not all the way over yet. But he loves to sleep on his side and he also likes to sleep with his lovie over his face, just like Jane did.

He went to his first church service on August 9th. He came into the service with us and slept the entire time. He was such a good boy.

He went in the swing at the playground for the first time on August 14th. He didn't really show too much emotion about it. Not overly thrilled, but he didn't hate it either

Jackson found his feet this month and he loves to grab them and play with them all the time.

He has also mastered grabbing toys. With grabbing toys comes putting everything he grabs into his mouth.

He wore shoes for the first time this month as well. With is being summer, we just had him barefoot for the longest time, but his Nana bought him some really cute shoes and they were about to be too small, so we had to have him wear them. They were so cute!

Here he is trying to eat his doggy

and there he goes!

 "who me?"

He has officially slept through the night a few times without even waking up for the paci. Most nights though he sleeps from 830pm to 8am and he wakes up maybe 3 or 4 times for his paci.

Look at his face!

These next few pictures are funny because Jane didn't want him grabbing her dress. Like I mentioned, he likes to grab everything in his reach so this was interesting.

Ok, we handled that.

I have cute kids!

He is at the drooling stage. MAN does he drool! Im not even sure where all the drool comes from! No teeth though!

Jackson is doing great on his schedule. It goes something like this.....

Wakes up at 8am
Eats at 8am
Naps at 10am to 11am
Eats at 12pm
Naps at 130pm to 4pm
Eats at 4pm
Naps somewhere around 530pm for about 30 minutes
Bath at 730pm
Eats at 8pm
Bed at 830pm

He loves chewing his fist and fingers now too!

Jackson,
Who would have thought how perfectly you fit into our family. You just blend right in. You are still the best baby ever. You are so laid back, happy, and content with pretty much anything. Thanks for being so cute and lovable. We love you so so much and can't wait to see what the next few months bring.
Love,
Mommy, Daddy, and Jane
