I Got a Flat Tire

Yep, I sure did!

My wonderful photographer for our wedding, Amanda, had sent us our wedding album and I was so eager to see it. I was having trouble once again with UPS as the package needed to be signed for. Once I got the first notice, I signed the back and left it the next day. The following day, there was another notice and my signed copy was GONE! I was getting frustrated. The second noticed had the area marked that indicated that they would try again the next day after 5:00pm so I made sure to leave work a little early to get home by 5. Well when I got home, there was the "final" notice. Guess he really didn't come when he said he would.
So I called and I was told that I had to pick it up within the next 5 days or it would be sent back. For some reason, they were holding the package at the furthest UPS location away from my house. You would think they would have it at the closet one, but I don't know how their company runs.
So I hit the road to go rescue my package. I was on the highway and all of the sudden I heard a big POP! I thought for sure that I ran something over, but I didn't recall seeing anything in the road. I even looked behind me, but there were so many cars behind me that I couldn't really tell. The thought of a flat tire did cross my mind, but I have had one once before and it made my car jerk, and my car didn't jerk at all. So I just kept driving for another 10 miles to the UPS store.
Once I got there I went right inside and got my package, got back in the car, and as I was driving out of the parking lot is when I felt something strange. I got out, and yep, I had a flat tire. How long was I driving on it? I have no clue!
So there I was trying to think of what to do next. I know in my head the steps to change a flat tire, but I have never actually done it by myself before, and never on a truck, only on a car. So I knew right off that I needed help. I felt so bad calling anyone because I was so far away. Mr. Hunt was out of town for work so I couldn't call him. I called my SIL Rachel since I was supposed to meet up with her and she said she knew how and that she would come help. As I waited for her to come to the rescue I first opened my package and took at peek at my beautiful wedding album. It is awesome, Ill post some pictures in a few days. Then I thought it probably would be a good idea to watch some uTube videos on "How to change a flat tire" and especially "How to get the spare tire out from under your car" because Rachel said she didn't know how to do that.
Once I watched a few videos I knew that I could get the spare by myself as long as I had the right tools, so I got out and started looking around. Right as I was doing that, a UPS worker drove up in his UPS minivan and said "You aren't going to change that by yourself are you?" I didn't say anything, just shook my head no. Then he said "Do you need me to do it?" and I said "Do you know how to?" (UGH, as soon as those words came out of my mouth I thought that was so stupid to say! Of course he knows how if he is offering to help). And just to be smart, the man said "No." we laughed and finally I admitted that I might need his assistance. After all, Rachel was pretty far away, and we werent certain we would be able to do it together anyway. The man called a friend over to help and they had the tire changed in less than 5 minutes. I was shocked. They were very funny guys too. They made a few jokes that I didn't really understand since I dont know much about changing tires, which made them laugh a little.
When they were finishing up, one of the guys said "well I guess we don't have a future career in NASCAR like we thought" I thought that was pretty funny and I reassured them that they changed a tire faster than I have ever seen anyone do it, besides the NASCAR guys. Then the other guy said, "Maybe you should get another flat tire at a Fedex and see how fast they can change a it." See? I told you , they were pretty funny.
Once they were finished I felt bad because all I could say is thank you. I felt like I owed them something. I told them that they completed their good deed of the day and they replied back, "Thanks for shipping with UPS." and walked away.
Oh the things I would do to get my wedding album in my hands.

Love,
Jennifer
