When we lived in Charlotte, we had the privilege to meet some great friends in the Tate Family. Mr. Hunt worked with Ryan at the Charlotte office of Paycom, but we have both since gone our separate ways, us to Austin and them to Tulsa OK. As much as we love Paycom (Mr. Hunt's company) it has its downsides like making friends and having to part once someone gets promoted. Anyway, Whitney called and offered to drive down to Austin to see us for the weekend. Mr. Hunt and Ryan were at training all week in Dallas and they would meet us in Austin.
So before I tell you about our wonderful weekend with them, Ill tell you a little bit about their family. There's Ryan and Whitney (Mom and Dad), then there is Cooper who turned 4 years old a few days after they left, and little baby Madelyn who is 3 weeks older than Jane. We of course met Cooper before, but never Madelyn, and they had never met Jane so we were all excited especially since Jane and Madelyn are so close in age.
So Whitney=Super Woman!!! With Ryan already in Dallas with Mr. Hunt, Whitney drove from Tulsa OK to Austin TX which was a 7 hour drive with a 4 year old, a 9 month old, and a dog. Yep, they brought their fur baby too! River and Hannah LOVED having a buddy to play with all weekend. I know it was rough for her since I talked with her most of the day Friday while she drove down. Lets just say it took more than 7 hours to get here since she had to make a "few" stops.
Once they got here it was dinner time and the husbands were on their way from Dallas so we walked down to the Mexican Restaurant down the street. Cooper was the sweetest thing to Jane. They played like this for awhile at the restaurant.
That night we just laid low while getting everyone situated. It worked out great that Madelyn and Jane had the same nap times and bed time.
On Saturday we decided to head to the pool. Mr. Hunt and I had never been to this pool so we were taking a risk that it was nice. It was similar to the pool we went to last time that was WAY too cold to even go in, so I was a little worried. Turns out this pool was much better. It was still too cold for us adults to really get in, but it wasn't anything compared to the other one. Also, this one had a shallow beach like entrance so the babies could "swim."
It was so fun to see Jane and Madelyn interact. Madelyn was always on the go and it seemed like Jane was always studying what she was up to.
Although Jane is 3 week younger than Madelyn, she was certainly bigger than little petite Madelyn.
Cooper loved the pool too!
The girls loved to play on the floor together too.
There Jane is again studying Madelyn.
Cooper had his superheros lined up by the TV. Jane was interested.
Look at this cutie!
That evening we decided Freddies was a good place to eat dinner. Cooper could play on the playground and we all could enjoy the food, drinks, and music.
The girls were deciding what to order, little did they know we already had their food with us.
We love Freddies.
Cooper had a hot dog in between running back and forth from the playground.
This picture cracks me up!
This is the only group picture we got.
Jane had green beans.
Then we took Madelyn on the swing for the first time. This was the same swing that Jane went on for the first time too.
Of course she loved it!
Then Jane had a turn.
Right after, Jane couldn't stay awake. The company wore her out!
After dinner we walked for the bakery and brought back some cupcakes for dessert. They played a little before bath time.
Madelyn decided that Jane's lap was a good place to sit.
We just had so much fun with them. Makes us sad that they live so far, but we decided that we would try to make the trip more often....its worth it.
Thanks Tates for coming to see us. We had a great time. Come see us again soon....or never mind, were coming to see y'all next.
Love,
The Hunts
