Its been two whole years since Mr. Hunt and I got married. Yep, today is our anniversary! I kind of like the fact that we got married on Labor Day weekend 2 years ago, because we can always celebrate with a 3 day weekend.
Last year while I was pregnant with Jane we went down to Galveston Texas for a three day beach weekend. This year, we have an 8 month old and we didn't do much. We thought about going somewhere, but with our crazy schedule for the rest of the year, we decided staying home would be fine this year. Now I'm sitting here on my anniversary writing a blog post about it and waiting for Jane to fall asleep for nap time. Times have changed.
We aren't doing anything special tonight except for a conference call with our financial advisor, a steak dinner cooked by Mr. Hunt, and a cake dessert made by my favorite bakery Sugar Mama's down the street from our house. We thought about getting a babysitter this past weekend so we could go out for dinner or something but its hard for us to pull the trigger on that. We've never left Jane with a babysitter, and its proving that the first time is the hardest. Maybe, just maybe we can get someone for this Friday so we can have a dinner alone for the first time in 8 months.
Besides the cake that Mr. Hunt ordered for me from Sugar Mamas, we didn't get each other anything separately. We decided that we would get a more expensive joint gift. We bought another iPad, but now we will just have one. We lost our first one a year and a half ago in Puerto Rico on a trip and never got another one. We felt like we really didn't need one since we both have iPhone and a macbook laptop, but we really wanted one for Jane. So I guess it was an anniversary gift for ourselves for Jane. Does that make sense? That's what happens when you have a kid. Jane loves to watch videos and play a few simple games on my phone but the screen is so small. We thought the ipad would be great.
So, alot has happened in the last two years. Never in a million years would I have guessed that we would be living in Austin TX with an 8 month old today, but here we are. We are so grateful for everything that God has blessed us with and we cannot wait to see what the rest of our lives will be like. Hopefully more kids and living closer to family and friends, but that's not for us to decide.
Hope yall have a great day!
Love,
Jennifer
