First Bath

I was so excited to give Jane her first ever bath and what better time to do it than when my parents and Uncle Dave were in town. You aren't supposed to get their little belly button stump wet so only a sponge bath is allowed when its still on. I was hoping that it would fall off in time to have her first bath while they were still there, and surprisingly it finally fell off on her 1 week birthday. Nobody told me to put rubbing alcohol on it to dry it out so not the entire thing fell off, but once we had her bath, it fell off right after. TMI? Sorry.
I wanted to start a bedtime routine where we give her a bath, rub her down with lotion, read a book, eat, and put her to bed. But after her first bath, it was clear to me that maybe she was still a little too young to do this every night, or just alot of work for mommy and daddy. She screamed most of the bath and decided she might like it towards the end. Then screamed again when we took her out to wrap her in a towel. It just seems like its alot of work and her being upset to do it every night right now. Plus, she doesn't get too dirty right now during the day. I understand that in order for her to like the bath, we probably need to start giving her more baths...but that will come in time.

Finally she was starting to realize she was enjoying getting cleaned. Or maybe it was just that she wasn't so cold anymore.

Then the water started to get drained and she got cold again.

After this we quickly rubbed her down with warm lotion and put some jammies on. She was nice and clean and ready for sleep.

We will give her a bath again soon and then probably at about 6 weeks or so, we will start her routine.
