Rustic Cottage Country

Just a quick little note to let y'all know that I have finally nailed down my "style."
Up until now I have never really thought about what I like. I just liked it and wanted it or bought it. I have been reading alot of home improvement/decor websites and they really encourage you to find what your style is so that you can narrow things down when you are out shopping for your home.
So I give you my style, or what I like to call it at least. Rustic Cottage Country. Does that make sense?
I have always been attracted to rustic looking or vintage looking pieces, I think probably because that's what my mom likes and decorated with when I was growing up. It wasn't until my wedding and her planning the decor for that, that I realized I loved rustic things and decor too. I love rustic metals, wrought iron, and worn wood.

The cottage comes in because I love a bright white and airy look. Clean lines. All things natural, cotton, and just all things light. I love the cozy feel of a room, no hard lines. I like to walk into a room and feel warm and at home, and that is just what a cottage is like in my mind.

Lastly is country. I love wood, woven rope, all things linen, old metal buckets, etc. I also love space. Not just space for a yard, but space in the home with high ceilings and lots of windows to let natural light in.

Yep, that's me! I honestly feel like I can concur the world (or my design world) now that I have pin pointed my style. Now I need to get decorating my house just like this and I will be happy!

XOXO,
Rustic Cottage Country Gal

Old vs. New

Last year at the Southern Christmas Show, Mr. Hunt and I stopped by Clara's Collars store and got the fur babies collars.
Now, a year later, it was time for new ones. I'm so glad that the collars latest just about a year so now I know that I can always go to the Southern Christmas Show and get new ones each year. These collars are so durable. I'm sure they would even last longer on a lesser active dog. Ours got so dingy and dirty just from going in and out of water, marshes, dirt, etc. Look at these side by sides.

Ok, this is Hannah's. As you can see, the one on the left is the old one and the one on the right is the one we just got that she wears now. When the fur babies play rough with each other, River likes to grab Hannah's neck in his mouth which is why her collar has that huge rip in it. Hers is also the worse of the two because she is the one who gets into dirt and the marsh a lot more than River does. If we know they are going to be in water, we try to take the collars off, but Hannah doesn't listen as well as River so there have been plenty of times where we have gotten River's collar off, but not Hannah's. I wanted to get a more girly one for Hannah this year, like pink or purple, but Mr. Hunt insisted we get tye dye. I'm glad we did, it sure does compliment her personality.

See? River's isn't nearly as bad. Besides it being a little faded, the big problem was that the plastic square thing that allows you to tighten the collar broke. We couldn't keep it tight anymore and it kept falling off his neck. Once again, I wanted to get something different for River this time, but Mr. Hunt insisted that he get another Gamecock collar and now I'm glad we did.

Here they are with their new outfits. They love them.

We also bought them chocolate covered treats.

Don't worry, it was dog safe chocolate. It smelled just like real chocolate and they LOVED it!

See that chocolate on the carpet, I started to freak out, but Hannah came to the rescue, she licked it all up and now there isn't a trace of it!

Long story short, I bought too much for the fur babies at the Christmas Show and nothing for myself. A little ridiculous, I think so.

Amanda Joy Photography

I am here today to tell y'all how great my wedding photographer was/is.
Her name is Amanda Mooney and her company is Amanda Joy Photography. I first met Amanda while we worked together as waitresses one summer in college. We became close friends that summer and have kept in touch since then.
When I saw that she started this photography company, I followed her photography blog all the time. Her pictures were amazing! Once I got engaged, I knew I wanted her to be my photographer.
Now, Ill let the picture explain themselves.

Aren't these pictures just amazing? This is only a few of course because she gave us about 500 pictures!
Why is Amanda so amazing? Well first off, she was awesome during the planning. She was always answering all my silly questions through email so quickly. When the time got closer, she sent us a Starbucks gift card to go use and relax. Then on our wedding day, she was awesome! She took control and took great pictures. She told us how to stand, what to do etc. At the reception, she put some of the pictures together on a slide show and set her laptop up in the corner so that the guests could see some of the pictures that were taken that day. Have you EVER heard of a photographer doing that? We had a sneak peek of the pictures right when we got back from the honeymoon, and all of the pictures sent to us within weeks. Others have told me that it usually takes the photographer several WEEKS to get that stuff done, so I know that she as on her toes and fast!
The most important thing that she offered was EVERY SINGLE picture that she took on a CD so that I can do whatever I want with them whenever. Most photographers don't do this. They want you to buy the pictures from them. She also sent me a DVD with a slide show of pictures with music, so sweet!
Once I saw how great the pictures were, I immediately ordered a photo album from her. Once again, it came in a flash and I love it!

Its perfect! Its sleek and simple.

Moral of the story, go to her website/blog and see her amazing work......then BOOK her for something. I honestly cannot wait to have a family so that she can be my photographer for pregnancy pictures and family pictures. I love you Amanda, thank you so much for capturing our day in a way that I could have never imagined.

Love,
ME!

Diet Coke Lover

Nope, its not me.....its my husband. Im getting a little worried! He drinks it like water. Im thinking about hanging this picture up in our kichen.

Just a little reminder to myself that (hopefully) this is true for Mr. Hunt....sometimes I question it.....Just Kidding. I know he loves me more than Diet Coke, but I think it might be a close second.

Love,
Regular Coke Lover
