NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

So ladies and gentlemen, the Gamecocks are now 2010 College Baseball Champions!! I had so much fun watching the games these past few weeks. They got more and more intense as we got closer and closer to the end. When we beat Clemson TWICE I felt like we had already won. But now, it feels even better to really win!

Since the last two games were on "School" nights, we didn't go anywhere to watch the games. Mr. Hunt and I usually go to bed a little after 10pm, but these two games lasted until almost midnight both nights! Mr. Hunt and River were on the couch. I learned that River really likes to watch baseball also.

He sat there on the couch for a very long time and watched the game. They both had no clue I took this picture. They were really into it!
This was the first time University of South Carolina has been National Champs! That is very rewarding and exciting! Now I cant wait for FOOTBALL! (my favorite sport....besides dance of course)

Your Typical Boy

So here is a story of your "typical" boy.
Last night Mr Hunt begged me to make his mothers famous Lemon Bars. He said that his mom made the BEST and I had to use her recipe. So I called her and got the recipe. Seemed pretty easy to me.

CRUST:
Yellow cake mix
Egg
Butter

FILLING:
Cream cheese
Confectioners sugar
Eggs
Lemon Juice

Mr. Hunt was the one who was going to the grocery to get everything for dinner so I told him the ingredients I needed. He was so excited.
When he got home I was on a walk with the dogs so he put all of the groceries up. When I returned I was going to make the Lemon Bars. I looked on the counter and there was a box of Lemon Bar Mix (like brownie mix) there. I looked at him and said "What is this?" He said "I thought this would be easier because you only need three eggs." Oh geez. Now this is what I would call your typical boy. He asked me to call his mom to get the recipe and make her famous lemon bars, and then he buys the box kind. This is why I love him though. It sure did put a smile on my face.

Don't worry!! I warned him that they weren't going to taste the same as his mother's did. They turned out pretty good. I think they were a little soft because I didn't let is chill for as long as the BOX said. I think Kaki's recipe will be much better though.

Kaki: I will make your recipe one of these days. I think I may have to go to the grocery store myself so that Mr. Hunt doesn't go astray in the isles again.

Anxiety Out of Control!

So last night I thought for sure that I was either going to have a heart attack, and anxiety attack, or just throw up. No I wasn't sick, I was watching the Gamecocks of course. I don't know what it is about me and ANYTHING gamecock, but I get pretty into the games. The game was WAY too close for comfort.
For those of you that don't know, the Gamecock baseball team is in the College World Series. This doesn't happen alot for their baseball team so it is very exciting. Right now it is double elimination and we already lost once, so we HAD to win last night or we would have to go home. The game was Oklahoma-1 South Carolina-0 the whole game until the 9th inning....we scored one run. The game went into extra innings. I usually only get anxiety when they play football because I love football, but when it went into extra innings the anxiety kicked right it. For the rest of the game my heart felt like it was about to pump out of my chest.

Long story short, Oklahoma got a home run in the top of the 12th inning. My heart sank, I couldn't believe it. It was our turn up to bat and we needed at least one run to keep it tied. Two runs to win. Since we only scored one run in the last 11 innings it was a far shot. When we did score the one run, I almost threw up because I was jumping up and down so much in front of the TV screaming. I was still full from our dinner at Wild Wings, so I probably shouldn't have been jumping. We had 2 outs and we needed one more run to win. AND WE DID IT! We hit a base run that brought in the third run! I went crazy. Mr. Hunt and I started running around the family room, jumping up and down. You would have thought we won the WHOLE thing! The dogs looked at us a little crazy then joined in on the excitement!

So guess who we have to play now? You will never guess.

CLEMSON!!!! Can you believe this. We are playing our biggest/only rival in the College World Series. This game or games will determine who will be in the finals! This is crazy. I really dislike Clemson. They haven't lost yet so we will have to beat them twice. I know we can do it. Please keep your fingers crossed. The first game is tonight at 9pm. WE NEED TO WIN!!!!

As you can tell, I'm a little too excite about this. I hope I can get some work done today. All I can hear is "2001" playing the back of my head.

GOOOOOO GAMECOCKS!!!!!

Hot as Heck

Let me start off by saying that in order for me to be hot, it has to be over 100 degrees. I love hot weather and hate cold weather. I start to get cold when it is 65 degrees. Winter is not the best time for me. I like everything about summer. The hot weather, beach, pool, clothing, etc, but being hot inside is not good.
In our new offices at work, they still haven't put a real A/C in. I don't know what they need to do but all I know is that there is a vent tube hanging from the ceiling right outside my office that blows cold or hot air out from the lobby. During the winter, I was always freezing cold, I had to bring a blanket to work. Now that it is summer, it is a different story.

The lobby has not been getting enough cold air since the doors are always opening and closing, so the lobby gets really hot. So they decided to close our vent tubes so that the air can be all going to the lobby. Well this was good for the guests, but not for us. It got pretty stuffy back in our offices. Everyone in the office says, "If Jennifer is hot, it must really be hot." Let me tell you, I was hot. So Chris (one of my co-workers) decided he would open it when nobody was looking and stick his head in the vent tube. It was pretty funny at the time. He says he was sweating, which I could believe because I was getting hot too.
Thank God I bought a mini fan when I started working here at The Blake Hotel when the A/C was broken. Now I blow that on my face all day.

My Daddy and the "Real" Mr. Hunt

Happy Fathers Day to all of the Dads out there, especially my Dad. There is too much to say about my dad right now, but to put it short, he is the BEST! He is laid back, loving, caring, selfless, and most importantly funny. He is always wanting to know what is going on with "us kids" and is always asking questions. He is there to help with anything. When I say anything, I mean it. When Mr. Hunt and I moved into our new house, my Mom, Dad, and Davis came up to help out around the house. My Dad had been on a business trip where he was in a hotel for a week or so and working his butt off, then had to drive all the way back just to turn around and drive 4 hours to our house. No day to rest. When he got to our house, he was constantly doing something. He helped paint, he put up my flag pole, he went to Lowe's and The Home Depot with me and my mom to help us pick out what we needed, he spread grass seed in our yard and told Mr. Hunt and I how to keep up with it, plus a whole lot more. This is just one example of how my dad is always there for me. I know he was exhausted and wanted to rest, but he didn't because his girl needed a hand. This is him at Kelly Maxwell's wedding going down the "soul train" line. I told he he could party!

Dad: Thank you for everything you have ever done for me. I love you so very much and I am so lucky to have a father like you. I love how you can help me clean my car one minute, give me advice the next, then party and be funny with me later. I know you work your butt off everyday for Mom, the boys, and I, and I am here to tell you that we are so thankful for that. You have always worked your hardest. I remember growing up, mom would always be worried about you working in the 100 or more degree temperature, and I know you were hot, but you did it for us. Thank you! Please come see Mr. Hunt and I soon. We miss you....and we need help again around the house. P.S. Bring my Mom too!

Now the "real" Mr. Hunt (I'm going to call him Tony now, and Kaki (Mr. Hunt's Mom)) had a birthday yesterday also, so he deserves a Happy Father's Day and a Happy Birthday. I know he had a good Father's Day because he was fishing, and a good Birthday becasue Mr. Hunt and I came over. We went over to their house last night for a small birthday celebration. He cooked very yummy steaks while Kaki made salad and baked potatoes.
Tony: I have a message for you too! So many times you have helped and given advice to Mr. Hunt or I, I have always thought about something. Mr. Hunt and I are the luckiest kids when it comes to our dad's! Do you know why? Because when you put you and my dad together, it makes the PERFECT DAD!!! Not that my dad or you aren't perfect by yourselves, and before I sound like a bad person, let me explain myself. When Mr. Hunt or I have a questions about finances, business, work, etc. we call you. Then when we have a questions about the yard, the house, appliances, etc. we go to my Dad. It Perfect! We always have someone to call about anything. So thank you for always helping us with our sometimes silly questions. Maybe someday we will have learned most everything we need to know, and we wont have to call you men so much. Well, come to think of it....I don't think that will ever happen. We will always be calling our dads for one thing or another.

Thanks Dad's!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Neighbors

Mr. Hunt and I met some of our neighbors this weekend. It was nice to finally meet some people. We have already met the people to the left of us, they don't like us very much for some reason. We are on the corner of the street, so we don't have anyone to the right of us. Right across the street from us, a nice little family moved in about a month ago. They have two boys, a boat, and they love the gamecocks! The youngest boy always says "Hi Chris" when he sees Mr. Hunt.

This weekend we went to the community pool. I enjoy the pool very much, the water temperature is just right, plus we get to meet people. Jeff is the man that lives right next to the pool. He introduced himself to Mr. Hunt and I one evening when we brought our dinner to the pool. He has a son named Nolan who plays baseball and loves our dogs. We see them almost everyday because they are either at the pool, at the pond fishing when we walk the dogs, or in their backyard. They are a nice family, and I found out that they like the Redskins just like me! We got invited to come over every Sunday for a football cookout. We might take that offer up since he is right near the pool!

When we got to the pool Saturday, there weren't many people there yet. About 10 minutes later, Jeff showed up with Nolan. We talked to Jeff for awhile before his buddies came and sat next to him. We were all introduced. We met a younger couple (but older than us) named JT and Marie. They were very sweet and fun also. They live a few streets down from the pool.

Next, our neighbor from across the street to the right of us (that has to be confusing) came and sat next to us. Her name is Hilary Taylor. She works at a dentist office and her husband, Rich, is a nurse in the cardiac center at the hospital. He wasn't at the pool because he worked the night shift, so he was sleeping. I think we are going to become good friends with them, because they seem the most like us.

A few minutes later the couple from two houses down on the left came in right when I was talking about our fence to Hilary. I was explaining that I didn't understand why we had to change our fence if the people two houses down had the same one as ours. A man chimed in as he jumped in the pool saying "that's me, you are talking about me!" Sure enough it was him. After talking about the fences for awhile, we introduced ourselves. His name is Mike and her named is Shayne. They are from Michigan and they talk ALOT! Especially Mike!

I'm very glad we met everyone, and I think we will see each other alot at the pool. We are going to try to put together a cook out or something where everyone can get together.

Oh! I also learned that the neighbors that don't really like us, don't really like anyone. I'm relived to know that it wasn't just something Mr. Hunt or I did.

This is really random, but I saw a cow on the way to work today riding in the back of a truck. Ive seen them do that before with horses and even cows, but they are usually in a trailer that you can hardly see through. This cow was out in the open! He kept looking at me, and I thought he was going to bust through the tiny wire that was holding him in.

This whole weekend I though next weekend was July 4th. I'm disappointed to know that I have another two weeks before my small vacation.

Cake and Work

So Hannah enjoyed her birthday cake very much. So did River. It was a banana flavored cake. I was thinking about getting River his own treat, like a little snack, but I didn't think Hannah would eat the whole cake.
When I got home with the cake, River put his two front paws on the counter (which her NEVER does). He knew it was something for him. Hannah didn't even care there was something there. She was roaming around in the back yard. I cut the cake in half and put the pieces on separate plates. First they stated licking the icing off, then they realized that it was going to take too long, so they both put the whole piece in their mouth at the same time and chewed it up. Then they acted surprised that it was gone. They licked the floor for awhile and Hannah had icing on her nose that she was trying to get off for a long time. They even sniffed in the trash (which they NEVER do either) to see if there was some left. I think this will be a tradition for the doggie birthdays.

Right now I am sitting at work. I have alot to do, but its Friday and I am distracted.

Instead of seeing this everyday, I wish I could make the same amount of money dancing everyday.

Hannah is One

Hannah Sky Hunt turns one year old today. This past year has really flown by. She is no where near the size that River was when he turned one, so I think she will always be smaller than him. This morning she did her normal routine of trying to wake us up before the alarm went off. Normally I get very annoyed and ignore her, but not this morning. I sang Happy Birthday to her just like I did River the morning of his birthday. She looked at me funny, and turned her head sideways in confusion, then went right back to her morning routine.

I am going to the Canine Cafe this afternoon after work to pick up a doggie birthday cake. This should be interesting. The Cafe is pretty cool. They have all types of treats and you can personalize everything. I hope she likes it.

Despite how crazy Hannah is she is such a loving, loyal dog. She is always trying to be right next to Mr. Hunt or I, and she loves River just the same. I am so glad that we decided to get Hannah, she River's best pal. I cant remember how it was before Hannah. She makes everyday interesting. Not one day goes by without me laughing at her for one reason or another. She has a giant personality of her own, but wouldn't know what to do without without the rest of us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH! I LOVE YOU!

Car Rides and Lazy Days

I know you probably know by now that Hannah is not anywhere near a normal dog. She is very special. She is also way too smart for Mr. Hunt and I. Lately during her car rides, she has tried to sneak to the front seats. She will slowly put her two front paws on the back of the seat and look over. Slowly but surely she will get further and further down the back of the seat. Sometimes we catch her and she will hop back to the back, but other times its too late and she gets stuck. Her two front paws will be standing on the back seat and the two back legs are too short to stand in the back so she is stuck. Of course River is a good boy and stays in the back. I think it is so funny that he just watches Hannah act up, and he never follows her. Such a good kid!

We had a great weekend. Saturday we went back to Mr. Hunt's parent house to go to the pool with the dogs. Mr. Hunt made beer can chicken on the grill which was very good. When we got home in the late afternoon, we took a nap. I was so tired. River loves to cuddle. I don't mind it either. After our nap we went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner.

Sunday we took the dogs to the doggie salon. I would have never guessed it would be so much like a real salon. It even smelled like a salon. They both got shampooed, brushed out (which was great because they are shedding like crazy for the summer), their ears cleaned, and their nails clipped. They had to stay their pretty much all day since it was busy. Mr. Hunt and I went to Wild Wings to watch the Gamecocks play baseball. by the way, THEY ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!! I went to the pool for an hour before it started to rain and we had to pick the dogs back up. When we picked them up, they had a report card. Rivers said "River was great-did not cause any problems-bring him back soon." Can you guess what Hannah's said? It said "Hannah was sweet and talkative-bring her back soon." I'm not surprised. This means she made her famous "noise" the whole time. Man, I feel bad. That had to of been a little annoying. At least they said to bring her back soon, she couldn't have been that bad. When we got home, we cleaned the WHOLE house. I love when the house is clean.

I'm looking forward to 4th of July weekend. I need a mini vacation.

Pool Days

Sunday was a pool day for the dogs. They love to go to their "grandparents" house and swim in the pool.

This was the first time I have seen Hannah swim. When we got her at the end of summer last year, she was too small to swim. Mr. Hunt saw her swim once when I wasn't there. She still has a hard time finding the edge of the pool and steps to get out, but she is cute. She loves the water for sure. When she wasn't swimming, she laid on the top step and took in the view. There was very little time that she was out of the water. Even when we dried her off to go home, she we trying to sneak back in. Mr. Hunt and I were walking River and Hannah in our neighborhood last week and we always walk along the pond. Hannah always pulls on the leash towards the water. I still had never seen Hannah swim so I asked Mr. Hunt "Should I see what she does if we get close tot he water?" He said sure, so I walked closer towards the water. In my head I thought she would sniff and look into the water, but she just jumped right in with the leash still on. She almost pulled me in with her. She is a water baby for sure.

River loves the water too but I think he loves the tennis ball more than the water. Ill tell you about the tennis balls another time, but River only got in the water if the ball was in the water. Sometimes if he got hot, he would put the ball in the water himself, then run to the other side of the pool and jump in after it. He is getting better at jumping in too.

I got pretty sunburned on Saturday at the pool while Mr. Hunt went to the South Carolina Regional baseball game, so I staying the shade all day Sunday. It was still nice to be outside and nice to see the dogs have so much fun.

I bet you already know, but they slept very well that night. We need a pool in our backyard one day.

Birthdays!

Happy Birthday to My wonderful Grandma and the beautiful Katie Hunt (Mr. Hunt's sister). I hope you all have a great day today.

Katie is now just as old as the REAL Mr. Hunt, 26. At least the real Mr. Hunt tells us he is 26. I talked to Katie today and she said she may stay at 26 too. We will see! Katie is such a sweet girl, and she deserves a great day today. (This is the only picture I could find of us. I think we may need to take some more pictures together. This is at the Panthers game...obviously when it was raining).

Im not sure how old my Grandma is turning this year, but I hope she has a wonderful day too. I couldnt ask for a better grandmother! I love her very much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I LOVE YOU BOTH!!!

Hannah's Morning Routine

I love Hannah, but not as much in the mornings. No matter what time she went to bed, she wakes up at 6:00am. Sometimes this is fine if we are getting up for work or something, but some mornings, I like to sleep until 6:30 or 6:45. I am not a good sleeper as it is. Mr. Hunt can fall right asleep, and when his alarm goes off, he can go right back to sleep within seconds. I cant. If something wakes me up, ill be up for another 20 or 30 minutes before I can fall back asleep.

So when Hannah wakes up, she comes right over to my face and licks it....ALOT! Its not sweet soft licks, its hard licks! Of course that wakes me up, but I pretend I'm still sleeping. Then she will lay right next to me and put her paw on my face and just hold it there. I try so hard to pretend I'm sleeping, but I just cant. As soon as she sees me even open one eye, she hops up and starts wagging her whole body (not just her tail) and makes the pig/coyote noise she makes when we have guests come over. It is way too much for the early morning. Most of the week days, I just go ahead and wake up at that point.

On the weekends I try so hard to ignore her. If I ignore her she usually goes to wake River up. Then I have two puppies who want to play. No matter where she is in the room, if I open one eye or even move to a different position in the bed, she thinks I'm getting up and she starts with the noises.

The worst thing is that she doesn't do this to Mr. Hunt at all. Sometimes if he starts to get out of bed before me, she will run over to his side of the bed and make her noises. Other than that, its just me.

I love her. I really do. But I need to figure something else out for her morning routine.

Memorial Day Weekend

My brothers and Dylan's friend Trey came in town for the weekend. We had such a great time. Here is a brief overview of what we did.

Friday night they arrived around 6pm. We went to Hickory Tavern for dinner and hung out around the house and played games that night.

Saturday, the boys (Mr. Hunt, Dylan, Davis, & Trey) went golfing while I painted our bedroom and waited for the bedroom furniture. When they got home we headed to Dave and Busters. We ate dinner first then played in the arcade. We all played the horse race game the most. We left around 11:30pm and played more games when we got home. We didn't go to bed until 4am Sunday morning. I haven't stayed up that late in a really really long time. My brothers were very surprised I didn't fall asleep. I had to stay awake and hang out as long as I could since I only see them every now and then.

Sunday was when the boys were going to leave, but Mr. Hunt and I persuaded them to stay one more night. We went to Jim and Nick's BBQ for lunch then headed to our community pool which just opened Saturday. I really like our pool, especially because for 10 minutes every hour it is adult swim, which means all the kids have to get out of the pool so the adults can relax. I got in every adult swim. That night we grilled steaks for dinner which were very yummy. We took it easy that night since we stayed up so late the night before.

Monday we went to BT's Burger Joint for lunch. When we got home, the boys had to pack up and head home. I was sad to see them leave, but its OK because they are coming back very soon for their 2nd annual Carowinds trip. I cant wait.

It was nice to have Monday off, but it seemed harder to get to work this morning. At least it is already Tuesday, and it kinda feels like Monday. I'm ready to go back to the pool this coming weekend.

NEW CAR! 2010 Ford Fusion

Mr. Hunt got a new car this weekend. The BMW was getting old. This isn't his actual car, but it looks exactly like this one. Mr. Hunt loves it and wont stop talking about it. I love to see him happy! It syncs with his iPhone so he can talk to me through the radio. It also downloads directions and syncs to his iPhone for music. It does alot of other cool stuff, but we haven't figured it all out yet. Now he will be safer when he drives 3 hours everyday back and forth from Winston Salem, NC.
I sure do miss that BMW though, we had many good memories in that car.

New Bedroom Set!

This is our new bedroom set! It looks great in our master bedroom. We have the king bed, the dresser with the mirror, the two night stands, the chest, and an amazing pillow top mattress. We even got a free 32" flat screen TV with it! I started to paint the room (green) and it looks really good next to the furniture color. I will take pictures once the room is finished being painted and everything is put away.
The furniture arrived on Saturday while the boys were golfing. We had a very busy weekend, so nothing has been put in the drawers yet, everything is still on the floor.
Now that we aren't sleeping on the floor, we cant get out of bed!
