Jackson's 8 Month Update

Jackson is already 8 months old. Why does the first year of a baby's life go by so quick? MAN!

This boy is proving that he wants to be just like his sister more and more everyday. He loves to pull up on everything and will crawl wherever she is. He is grabbing all her toys and enjoys "playing" with her whenever she allows.

He sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time this month. Jane had already sat in a high chair a million times by this age, but we just don't go out to eat too much with the too kids anymore. He loved sitting in it though and was able to look around at everyone that walked by.

Like I mentioned above, he is definitely crawling now. He skipped the whole scooting phase and is a pro crawler. It was a slow crawl at first, but he is fast now.

Also like I mentioned above, he is pulling up to stand on everything including in his crib. It seems like he would rather walk than crawl.

He is also proving to be a dare devil too. He has let go while standing for a spilt second. Of course he falls right down, but the fact that he even wanted to try that is crazy.

He can also go from his belly or the crawling position to the sitting position. So he crawls whoever he wants, then sits up, then pulls up to stand. Such a big boy in just one month!

Since he is pulling up to stand in his crib too, we had to lower his crib mattress. We went ahead and lowered it to the lowest position. There is a middle position, but we just moved it all the way down. Saves us from having to do it again in just a few months. Thats what we did for Jane too.

I sat him down on the scale here at home and it said 19lbs exactly. Such a big boy!

He has been eating great. We are still doing a combination of baby led weaning and purees.

These pictures of Jackson and Jane are just the most precious thing Ive ever seen. Their friendship is growing day after day.

Jackson,
Mommy, Daddy, and Jane love you so much. We love to see your little personality come out. We thought you would be calm and laid back, the opposite of Jane....but you are proving to be your own little crazy kid. You just want to keep up with Jane so bad. You are so sweet and smiley all the time. Love you so so much big boy!
Love,
Mom Dad and Jane

Random Fun Stuff

These pictures are all from the summer/fall time. Im so late in sharing so much stuff, but I can't help but not share them.

Jane loves sleeping in our bed. We've been loving it too. Here we are making funny faces in the bed together.

This is my friend Kate. She lives in my neighborhood and we met becuase her little boy is the same age as Jane and now they are best friends. She also has a little girl the same age as Jackson. We went to a comedy show one night together. It was pretty fun!

Jane isn't used to seeing me dressed up too much, especially in high heels. I came home from the comedy show and she wanted to try on my high heels. Look at how cute!

Here we are again in the bed....eating cookies this time.

Jane was rocking the heart sunglasses and the headphones.

River and Hannah are so great with both kids. They are great.

Hannah was being chased by River and jumped right through our screened in porch. You can see by the picture that she was very sorry. Poor thing.

We had a little picnic out in the backyard one afternoon when it wasn't too hot

Uncle Dylan took Jane to the Peanut Festival. They had such a good time together just the two of them.

My love!

After bath smiles!

Blue lollipop at the grocery store

Hannah was so sweet looking out the window

Here is Jane's best friend Mason. They were eating ice cream one evening while the adults watched the Panthers play football.

Thats it for now....Ill be back with more Im sure....

The Drive In

We have been LOVING the drive in movie theater in Beaufort. Its about and hour away from our house and about 45 minutes from my parents house so we can meet them there for a night time activity together if we want.

We've been going together a lot this summer. Its much better than the regular movie theater because we can get really comfy in our car, eat dinner and snacks, and the kids can be loud if they need to without disturbing others.

I will admit that this last time we went, Jackson was having a hard time falling asleep. The movies start after dark so they are a little late for little Jackson. He was falling asleep great that past few times (see picture below), but he may be getting too old now and the noise is keeping him up.

Either way, we love it. Its also much cheaper than the regular movie theater.

Disney on Ice

I took Jane to see Disney on Ice back in November. It was just me, Jane, Nana, and Aunt Jenn and we had a great time. It was fun to see her realize what everything was once we got there because I don't think she really understood the whole ice skating thing.

I let her pick out one souvenir when we first got there and she picked this large Anna. Not sure why they sold these frozen things because Anna and Elsa weren't even in the show. That's the only thing that bugged me. I didn't know that they weren't in the show.

Jane loved to point out all the characters and say who everyone was. Towards the end of the first half she got a little antsy. Intermission was good because we had a little snack and she was ready for more.

I think the show was the perfect length. Jane had such a good time. Cant wait to take Jackson some day too!

Love,
Jennifer
