Book Worm

This kid LOVES books. I'm pretty sure a lot of children like books though. What is there not to like? They are colorful, fun, and there is something new to look at on every page. Jane though, is a little obsessed I think.

She will sit like this.....

and "read" the books for 5 minutes straight. That's a long long time to sit still in one place for her.

Or she will do this....

Sits on the couch in her jammies and reads a dog book while holding her dog figurine and just says "woof woof" over and over.

I'm not sure if she will ever grow out of this, but for now its fun! Although she definitely has her favorite books that she brings for me to read her. I have them memorized and sometimes I'm so sick of them that I make up my own words.

She loves turning the pages also and most of the time she is turning the page before I have read everything on the page anyway.

Jennifer

My Sidekick

Jane loves to carry around our iPhones. But she whines until we open up the camera and face the camera to her so she can see herself. Then she runs around looking at herself laughing. May be a little conceded, but if I looked like her I would be too.

So doing this open also means we take selfies often.

Here are just a few.

I love her, that smile, and that giggle so much

Wanna go way back? I was looking at old pictures recently and wanted to share some. Man, time flies. Man, we both look so different.

This is 2007 I think

This is either 2007 or 2008

This is 2006 when we FIRST started dating!

and here is a little flash back for the fur babies!

Baby Hannah 6 weeks old (2009)

And baby River 8 weeks old (2009)

Well that was fun!

The Many Faces of Jane Audrey

I just had to share these. One of Jane's favorite times of the day is bath. The other is meals...haha. Anyway, I get the funniest faces during bath and this time, I decided to snap away.

Usually it starts with crazy hair once I take it out of the pony.

She looks like Jimmy Neutron! Who remembers him?

Then the giggles start and so do the faces. Her happy faces are funny, beautiful, and full of personality.

In-Laws In Town

Now that its already the end of this weekend, I'm now officially a week late for this post. Ive been doing a TON of work over on my YouTube channel and I'm having a lot of fun! I promised I wouldn't always talk about it on here, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I added a button over to the right of this blog.....look right....where you can subscribe so that you don't miss my videos. From now on though, I will only direct you there if there is a VERY important video or something.

Anyway, lets get to the in-laws visit. We were sad to leave South Carolina after Christmas because we didn't know the next time we would see any family. We had a super busy end of 2013 so there were many times we flew to see family. Each time we would leave we would just say "see you in a month" or something, so this time, we didn't know what to say and it was so sad.

Then Mr. Hunt's parents told us they were thinking about driving down to see us. They wanted to make a long trip out of it where they would take their time driving here and back and visit places along the way. Plus it was good because then we didn't have to ship all of Jane's birthday and Christmas gifts, they just brought them with them.

Let me tell you....it was certainly like Christmas all over again when they got here. There were new toys everywhere and Jane didn't know what to do. Mr. Hunt and I got to see our presents again and actually use them...so it was fun!

So they showed up on Friday afternoon and they got a lot of Jane time while we waited for Mr. Hunt to come home from work. This was also when Jane got to see all her gifts again. That night, we went to Lucy's for some fried chicken and then to Amy's for Ice Cream.

On Saturday, Mr. Hunt and Paw paw went to the shooting range to shoot their guns as well as grandaddy Hunt's gun. Mimi, Jane and I went shopping on Congress. Ive been living one street down from Congress of almost a year now, and this was the first time Ive actually gone into the little shops. Mr. Hunt isn't really into that kind of stuff so if we ever go over there its for food. There were a ton of cute stuff in the shops, and I can't wait to go back.

Then we went to Tourchy's Tacos for some lunch. Here is Jane waiting on the food.

Jane spent a lot of the weekend playing with this balloon like I mentioned in the last post.

Saturday afternoon we took the drive to the original Salt Lick.

We love going there because you get to sit outside and enjoy the weather and band (although there wasn't a band this time) while you wait for a table.

Plus its great food!

The weather was great and Jane liked sitting on Pawpaw's lap as well as running around a bit too.

Mimi and Paw paw gave her a sip of lemonade as well. She still isn't fond of any drink but water.

She also loved sitting/standing/dancing on the table.

This isn't a good picture of Jane, but I just love Mimi's look.....

Here is my baby and I!

Sunday was a relaxing day. But we did try to go see the bats on Congress Street. If you don't know, there are a million bats living under the Congress Street bridge in downtown Austin. Every night at sunset they come flying out and it draws a bunch of people to watch. Apparently its not every night though, because apparently they had flown to Mexico since it was so cold out.

So, we just played on this grassy hill with Jane for a bit while waiting.

Then once we noticed they weren't coming, we went to have some yummy Mexican food for dinner.

Monday, Mr. Hunt had to go to work, so Mimi, Paw paw, Jane and I went to run some errands. It was a slow day. Then we went to Hop Doddy's for dinner which is a popular burger restaurant. It was super yummy!

Tuesday morning was the day they were leaving, so we put Jane in her wagon and walked to get some treats for them to go. Jane was having a crazy hair day.

She (and the fur babies) were sad to see them go

Mr. Hunt and I were too of course. Again, its hard not knowing when we will see family next. Hopefully sooner than later.

Jennifer

THE Balloon

We got this HUGE balloon for Jane's one year photo shoot back on the last week of November.

Its still alive and Jane is just now loving it.

She was scared of it at first and wanted nothing to do with it. It was hard enough to get her to take pictures with it in the shoot. Now that its finally lowering from lack of helium, she likes to play with it and its not getting old.

Being in the dog crates isn't getting old either apparently.

I tried my hardest to get a picture of her standing still with the balloon...I failed.

The best part would be when she would forget about it for a bit, then all of the sudden she would see it, GASP, and say "whats that?" then run and grab it again. Every Single Time.

Its always the little things that make her happy.

UPDATE: it finally popped the other day. It wasn't really even a pop, it kind of just wilted and tore. Byebye balloon, thanks for the hours of fun!

Love,
Jane's Mom
